On September 25th, over 30 people walked along Western Ave. in Chicago with a goal of raising $200,000 to invest in emerging urban leaders at Pursue Scholars. Over a period of twelve hours, 11 of those individuals walked the entire 24 miles of Western Ave. from 119th street to Howard Ave.

It was a memorable day for everyone involved.

We want to thank every walker, everyone who volunteered to support, Desmond Clark for coming out, and to all 183 individuals who contributed to the campaign.

Pursue Scholars former staff member, @solodollo_dixon , has pledged to walk the entirety of Western Avenue from south to north in an effort to help unify Chicago.
 As his journey covers the expanse of Chicago and traverses through many of its unique and vibrant neighborhoods, Solomon’s path will both physically and psychologically represent the city.
